The Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) has revealed its plans for the digitalization of parking fees in Islamabad.
According to a news source published on October 31, the parking fees across the Federal Capital are to be digitalized.
This is an important step for the management of parking in the city. With the increasing population of the capital, the new initiatives to manage the increasing traffic are important.
The MCI spokesperson revealed that this step will be established by collaboration with a private company.
This private partnership will be responsible for the installation of the cameras throughout the Federal Capital. This whole situation will operate under the revenue-sharing model.
There will be no hike in the car parking fees. The rates will be maintained by the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI). Bike parking will continue at PKR 30, and the car parking will remain at PKR 50.
The MCI has invited even the fintech and technology solutions provided to facilitate this whole process.
The parking fees for the two F-7 plazas will undergo digitalization. G-9 Public Transport and parking areas of Kohsar Market are included in this initiative.
Looking ahead, the digitalization effort will expand to incorporate other parts of the city.
