History of the Lake

Banjosa Lake is a man-made lake. It was rebuilt by Shaukat Hussain who was a well-known contractor in the Poonch district.

Located at a height of 1981 meters. It is surrounded by lush green pine trees, thick forests, and lofty mountains. It is accessible by a road from Rawlakot.

Climate, and floras

The lake is often visited from April to October as the weather is very pleasant. The lake is frozen in winter and people go skating also. During winter the temperature falls to -5 C°. The temperature remains from 16°C to 20°C.

The charm of Banjosa Lake strikes you very pleasantly. The crystal clear waters of the lake mirror the sky and the surrounding Pine forests create an enchanted canvas of light, color, and reflections.
