Funding shortfall forces Kohat Mayor to seek accountability on unrestored roads

The Hangu and Bannu roads along with the Kutchery Chowk Road in Kohat were under repair and restoration by the city committee.

The Kohat City Mayor Qari Sher Zaman has demanded an explanation from the officials regarding the failure to restore those roads.

A meeting was conducted to learn the updates about the restoration of roads. This meeting was called due to an unprecedented delay in the repair of the roads.

The roads have been dug up for laying the pipelines. It has caused significant inconvenience to both motorists and pedestrians. In the city, traffic has constantly been inconvenienced by this.

The Mayor of Kohat Zaman highlighted the Communication and Works Department Funding. He revealed that they have received a whopping total of PKR 30 Million from Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited.

They had the funding for the recarpeting of the roads but the repairs have still not been completed. The Mayor has asked the relevant party to rectify the solution.

They were asked for prompt action. The mayor has called for consequences if further delays take place.

The digging caused by the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited has escalated the cost of repairs.
