How can you save money on Petrol?
Pakistan’s petrol prices have gone north again. According to the official announcement, the price of petrol has been set at Rs 331.38 per liter, while high-speed diesel will be available at Rs 273.40 per liter.
Petrol prices affect almost every aspect of our lives. With the current economic situation downhill, prices are bound to go up.
We as a consumer can’t bring the prices down ourselves, so the only way to deal with this is to reduce our petrol consumption.
I’ve personally noticed and searched up some ways through which we can save some cash from this expense that is bound to happen.
Let’s see which one are they:
Personal habits
I highly suggest you avoid unnecessary trips to the local shop in your car. Try to walk or ride a bicycle.
I had a bad habit of sitting in the idle car with the AC on, waiting for someone. Make sure you correct that. Find somewhere cool like a shadow for a little while.
Try to be on time, which will make you drive slow. We all know that a heavy foot on the petrol and brake severely lowers your car’s average.
Make sure to use cruise control more often as it maintains a constant speed on highways and even in cities, giving better fuel economy.
Better planning
Make sure you collaborate with your family members and acquaintances if you have the same route. If every family member uses their separate transport, maybe you should avoid that. I suggest you plan your schedule to avoid rush hours so you don’t get stuck in traffic.
Try to find the best route possible to your destination.
Public transport
If you live in a city where public transport is good, make sure to use it as it is still the cheapest and most efficient way of traveling. If more people are using public transport it may get better.
As more people use public transport, it will improve things on the road as fewer people are using personal vehicles.
