Norwegian Firm to help with the development of hydropower generation in Gilgit-Baltistan

The formation of sustainable energy sources is an important initiative by the government. The Gilgit-Baltistan government and the Norwegian Hydro Company (NOR Hydro) have teamed up for this endeavor.

According to a news source published on October 23, the government partnership will open new routes for energy production in the country.

This is an important milestone for the Gilgit-Baltistan environment sector. This significant investment was finalized by a panel in Islamabad. NOR Hydro is known for its Solar and hydro-energy projects. According to the reports they will invest in the production of Solar and Hydro projects. This project is starting in Skardu in Baltistan.

The focus of this project is not only the production of new energy sources but also the enhancement of existing powerhouses.

It is establishing a 4.5-megawatt solar park for eco-friendly electricity. This project will work on advanced hydroelectric projects related to water and power.

GB Chief Minister Haji Gulbar Khan and Norwegian Ambassador Per Albert Ilsaas participated in the signing ceremony. Both parties expressed mutual acknowledgment and gratitude.

The Norwegian Ambassador expressed his faith in the future of the project and the development of sustainable energy sources in Pakistan. This is a big step for the country, especially in the region of Gilgit-Baltistan.
