Our Lavish Lifestyle
Pakistan since its birth has been going through an economic crisis but currently, the economic crunch she is facing is an alarming sign.
Many argue that the elites of the country can make the state a bearable place to live but who wants to give up his lavish lifestyle? Hence today we are going to dig deep into the topic of lavish lifestyle, so stay tuned.
Our lavish lifestyle in the present world
Today, when everything is easily accessible on phones, people are consuming content that shows the lavish lifestyle of elites around the world. This is making our society and new generations hungry for consumerism. The following are the drawbacks of such a lavish lifestyle:
Showoff
People are less concerned with sustainable options rather they consume social media content which is most of the time fake.
That depicts a perfect lavish view of life. No offense in the name of influencing, the influencers are just mostly showing off how lavishly they live, and the audience copies them even though that’s how they earn their living.
Inequality gap in Pakistan
Pakistan, though economically weak, has rich people who live a lavish life in their country or some cases abroad. And it is argued that there is a huge gap in class in Pakistan.
The elites are getting richer while the lower and middle classes are getting poorer because of the unequal distribution of wealth.
Consumerism
People living lavish lifestyles are now everywhere on social media platforms, showcasing their lifestyles in one way or the other. This creates a wave of consumerism among the youth. And when youth is the future of Pakistan, then what else can destroy Pakistan more than consumerism?
Conclusion
All in all, having a lavish lifestyle is not a bad thing once in a while but showcasing it creates many different problems.
We should rather focus more on sustainable solutions to our problems and should go for a sustainable lifestyle. This would not only lead to a healthy lifestyle but would also help to fight consumerism.
