Biogas Plant in Lahore

Pak’s Biggest Biogas Plant in Lahore started its construction

Global warming has been an important concern for a while. Every country has sought ways to reduce pollution in their energy production endeavors.

Pakistan has been working towards a greener and cleaner future. With increasing focus on the hydro and solar power plants, the endeavors are being fruitful.

The government is thinking of reusing and reutilising the waste to produce energy. This has led to the plan for the production of Biogas from cow manure. This will reutilise the extra manure for producing energy.

According to a news source published on October 26, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Mohsin Naqvi initiated the construction of the Biogas Plant. The foundation stone was laid in the Gujjar Colony, Lahore. This is a huge step towards a cleaner Pakistan.

This was followed by a ceremony to discuss the details of the project. The project focuses on the decrease in the production of waste, to focus more on environmental stability. The Biogas Plant takes over a land of 6000 cubic meters. It is supposed to generate a revenue of PKR 80 million.

It is an innovative approach to waste management. It will use manure from 24000 livestock in Gujjar Colony. It will produce 1600 kg of fuel-grade gas.
