Lahore Lahore aye festival is a must-visit
Lahores’ Divisional commissioner has announced the inauguration of the much-awaited cultural festival of Lahore, on 28th October, 2023. Lahore, Lahore aye festival will be held in the provincial capital as is evident from its name.
He was chairing a meeting in his office to review the ongoing preparations for the cultural festival.
Venues
The main festivities will be held at two main venues: Alhamra Arts Center, Mall
Alhamra Cultural Complex, Gaddafi Stadium. The other venues include Hazoori Bagh, Racecourse Park, Expo Center, and Lawrence Garden.
Attractions
The activities included in this cultural extravaganza are: A painting exhibition depicting the culture of Punjab will be held at Alhamra Arts Center. It will run for all 16 days.
Theatre performance
In the evening the inaugural performance of the play ” Kala Meda Bhes” will be staged by Ajoka Theatre. Different other stage plays by different groups will also be presented in Alhamra Cultural Complex.
Singing
Both classical and folk singing will happen. There will be a singing performance. Classical singing performances by all the classical gharanas, sham chaurasi, Patiala, and Gawaliar will be included in Lahore, Lahore Aye festival.
Folk singers Saeen Zahoor and Tehseen Sakeena will perform on 2nd November. A Sufi night, featuring the Sami Brothers will be held on 9 November, and Popular sensation Hadiqa Kiyani will perform on 10 November.
The festival will also feature other prominent singers like Sahir Ali Bagga, Nasibo Laal, Arif Lohar, Hassan Rahim, and Humaira Arshad to name a few.
The folk artists of other provinces will also perform in Lahore, Lahore Aye, a festival to represent the national bouquet. These artists are Akhtar Channar, Gul Panra, Mai Dhai, Iqbal Hussain, Shaiegill and many more.
A photography competition, under the title ‘Lahore through Lense’ will also be held.
Other programs
There are other programs like book fairs, literary talks, and programs for children. The favourite culinary items both traditional and modern will be available to tingle the taste buds of the people.
Lahore, Lahore Aye, the festival will celebrate the cultural prowess of Lahore. It will be a great time of festivity for the people of Punjab in general and Lahore in particular.
