CDWP greenlights projects to boost foreign investments

Major developmental projects have been accelerated to improve foreign investments. The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has given the green light to boost nine projects.

According to the Dawn, both multilateral and bilateral lenders accelerate international financial support.

Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Dr Jehanzeb Khan chaired this session. It was for a total of PKR 224 billion. A

ll of these projects are very important for national development. These multilateral and bilateral lenders include food and agriculture, education, energy, physical planning and housing, science and technology, social welfare, transport and communication, and water resources development.

The CDWP has given a total of PKR 10.02 billion. There are four other large initiatives in the session. They totaled PKR 213.86 billion to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC). They have sent this amount for evaluation.

The first project is the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Security Support Project, which is valued at PKR 24.64 billion (USD 88 million). It is aimed at assisting farmers affected by 2022 floods. Another project is the Sindh School Rehabilitation project.

Women Inclusive Finance Development Programme and Water Sector Project have also received approval. Additionally, the CDWP has also approved five more development schemes.
