FBR body formed to help taxpayers submit sales tax returns

According to a news source published on October 23, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has made a new body for the convenience of the taxpayers. This significant step has been taken to ensure that taxpayers submit sales tax returns easily.

The details explain a specialized committee has been formed. The committee consists of three teams with a total of eight members. The first team is led by Sher Salim Tariq, Dr Nasir Khan, and Aamir Amin Bhatti.

The team will focus on implementing a single portal sales tax return filing system. This system is for the telecom sector. It will start from October 31.

This is due to the government’s efforts to facilitate the taxpayers. The system is especially designed to help those who missed the first deadline for tax submission which was on September 30.

The second phase will commence under the leadership of Zainul Abidin Sahi. This second phase will encompass all the sectors by May 31, 2024.

To accommodate these individuals this extension has been provided. This extension is till October 31. This extension will provide the taxpayers enough time to fulfill their obligations.
