The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a project in Gwadar. The initiatives about the management, planning, and execution of the corridor were discussed according to a news report revealed on October 11.
The Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Minister Muhammad Sami Saeed asked the ministries to expedite the project.
A meeting for the progress reports was held on Tuesday. The details reveal that the meeting is to assess the details of the project.
The Planning Ministry Secretary, Maritime Affairs Secretary, Chief Economist, Gwadar Port Authority Chairman, and Gwadar Development Authority Director-General were some of the important members of the meeting. Representatives from various ministries were also present.
The Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Minister Muhammad Sami Saeed was briefed on the project.
In the CPEC project, many initiatives are being taken. Gwadar Power Plant, Gwadar East-bay Expressway Project, Gwadar Free Zone, and Gwadar Port are being made.
The project also includes several other projects such as the New Gwadar International Airport Project and the Khuzdar-Panjgur Transmission line (via Nag-Basima).
CPEC will also include the 2000 boat engines for local fishermen. Friendship Hospital and China-Pak Technical and Vocational Institute are also being discussed.
The importance of this project was emphasized by the minister, he also emphasized the uplifting effect the Economic Corridor will have in the country.
