Stop forced conversion; it’s a dark reality, says Deepak Perwani
Deepak Perwani, a key figure in Pakistan’s fashion industry, has taken a bold position on the country’s common issue of forced conversions.
Perwani used his social media platform to speak out against this troubling trend, emphasizing the dire situation of Hindu girls who are frequently compelled to convert to Islam to marry Muslim men.
He reflected on the trend of Hindu girls being pressured into conversion for marriage, as well as the lack of mutual conversions, highlighting the inherent imbalance and unfairness in such situations.
He criticized the current condition of things in Pakistan, asking for an end to forced conversions and denouncing the relevant authorities’ apparent apathy in resolving this critical matter.
“So only Hindu girls want to convert to marry Muslims in Pakistan and no Muslim girl ever converts to marry a Hindu in Pakistan?” said the fashion designer. “Stop forced conversions. It’s a dark reality that Pakistan needs to change if it wants to move forward.”
