What can be done about famine in Pakistan?
As inflation is rising due to the economic instability Pakistan is facing in contemporary times, the rate of famine in Pakistan is also getting higher day by day.
Reasons for the Famine in Pakistan
There are various reasons for famine in Pakistan many of which are just directly linked to the fact that Pakistan is a poor state, facing a debt trap from various international regions and organizations.
Inflation
The loan from the International Monetary Fund is taking a toll on Pakistan’s economy Pakistan seems unable to pay the loan due to which Pakistan might face a situation of default.
Because of the loan from the IMF, Pakistan is now bound to increase the price of petrol which technically increases the price of everything hence causing inflation.
Famine in Pakistan
So inflation is the root cause of famine in Pakistan. After the continuous rise of inflation, people from the lower middle, as well as upper class, are worried about the necessities of life. The Muslims of Pakistan who used to give donations for the food and shelter of poor people of their country, now are busy worrying about their bread and butter.
Rise in crime reports
Due to inflation, famine becomes prominent which makes people desperate and hence causes crime reports to increase with the increase in famine. When people don’t feel that the state could help them in any way rather is making their lives miserable, then the crime rates of that state rise.
Conclusion
There are plenty of problems when we come to count, but we need to be problem-solvers because already we have a lot of problem-makers. Hence, getting rid of famine should be our main concern in today’s time.
As Muslims, we all can feel and relate to people around us who can’t afford to eat and stay hungry all day long because we do that too in Ramadan, but if we can make our hearts a little big for them by giving to charity, once in a month or week then we can truly make a difference.
So let’s try to stop pointing towards others rather let’s focus on ourselves because it all starts with me, with you, and with us!
